Sharon Collins
Bsc(Hons)Psychology, Msc Clinical Psychology, Certificate in Business Coaching,CAT Practitioner
Sharon Collins is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with a background in staff care. She has worked extensively on assignments in both the public and private sectors, across the cycle of employee engagement from recruitment and assessment events to development centres, leadership training and coaching. Clients have included Nortel Networks, Axa Insurance, Kelloggs, and public sector bodies such as the Environment Agency, DVLA and Dfes.
Sharon is level A and B qualified, enabling her to use psychometric tests of both ability and personality and has a particular interest in the application of principles from CAT (Cognitive Analytic Therapy) to working with the ‘difficult to manage', and to clarify team dynamics. Whilst working as a management consultant, she piloted the use of CAT as a method for achieving behavioural change in managers faced with grievances, and acted as mediator and problem solver for the client. Sharon has been a coach to a number of managers who are facing the demands of a step change in role. She is also a qualified Assessor and has worked on a number of assessment centres both as an Assessor and as Centre Manager. Her portfolio includes bespoke design of assessment events.
Sharon has maintained her career within the NHS whilst also running a portfolio of other activities. She has a long standing interest in the link between staff retention, engagement and staff well-being and in developing the capability of managers to effectively engage with their staff to promote well being.
