John Hepworth
BA(Hons),FCIPD
John Hepworth is a Business Studies graduate and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development. He helps organisations, especially in the SME sector, achieve competitive advantage in the industries where they operate. John has a particular interest in translating strategic human resource management into practice. Typically, with his clients, this has meant John focusing his efforts on recruitment and selection, performance management and career development activities.
Upon graduating in 1987, John began his career in aerospace engineering and developed his career in a number of industries thereafter, including manufacturing, utilities and financial services. Having established his own human resources consultancy in 2005, John has built on these experiences and has offered his considerable pragmatic experience to housing associations, professional services and media groups. These assignments have ranged from providing essential HR information to management teams through to facilitation of business strategy with an emphasis on ensuring values and behaviours are delivered in practice.
John has a wide-ranging set of skills that cover most aspects of function human resources, from reward management through to employee relations. It is his belief however in the value of matching the development of internal competencies with the externally driven demands of the market place that focuses his attention. John sees this challenge as one of the key themes in developing organisational health, capability and performance.
A part-time lecturer on management courses, John is qualified in psychometric testing and holds a diploma in coaching for business performance.
