Emma Donaldson-Feilder
MA, MSc, C.Psychol., Chartered Occupational Psychologist, Practitioner of the Year 2007 (awarded by the British Psychological Society Division of Occupational Psychology)
Emma Donaldson-Feilder is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist who specialises in helping organisations achieve sustainable business performance through improvements in the well-being, morale, productivity and engagement of staff. She combines research and practitioner roles with writing, presenting and lecturing on workplace well-being.
On the research side, Emma is co-director (with Dr Joanna Yarker of Goldsmiths, University of London) of a research programme investigating the link between leadership/management and employee stress/well-being. They are currently working on a project funded by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) to develop a competency framework for preventing and reducing stress at work. This research is identifying the specific behavioural competencies required by managers to implement the HSE Management Standards for stress.
As a practitioner, Emma is Director of Affinity Health at Work, a specialist consultancy offering services to improve workplace health and well-being. Affinity Health at Work provides solutions at organisational, team and/or individual level, which range from simple advice to full hands-on project management. With particular expertise in assessing and managing work-related stress risks, Emma has worked with a wide range of clients in the public and private sectors, providing consultancy and training to help employers, managers and individuals improve staff well-being, morale, productivity and engagement.
Emma is Consultant Editor for a new CIPD subscription publication on performance and well-being and author of numerous publications in the field of workplace well-being. She is a regular presenter at professional and academic conference and contributes lectures to the MSc in Occupational/Organisational Psychology at Goldsmiths, University of London, City University and University of Hertfordshire. She has also appeared on radio and TV providing expert comment on issues relating to health at work. She has recently been named Practitioner of the Year by the British Psychological Society Division of Occupational Psychology.
